An AI monitoring tool for production errors does more than alert. It groups the repeats into one issue, tells you, works out the root cause from your logs and traces, and hands you a fix in your coding agent or a pull request. Fixter (fixter.dev) does this for small teams that build with Claude Code.
Fixter is our product. We checked every product fact and price against the vendor's own pages on November 5, 2026.
What the AI does with an error
Most monitoring stops at the alert, and the digging is yours. AI monitoring takes the next steps for you.
- It finds the issue. The same error, repeated, becomes one issue with a count. You hear about it once, by email or Slack.1
- It works out why. It reads your logs and traces, then writes down the root cause and who is affected.1,3
- It fixes it. From your coding agent, or as a pull request ready for your review.2
- It checks the fix held. If the same error comes back, the issue reopens and you hear about it.1
One error, from first event to fix
This is a made-up example, not a real customer. A small B2B SaaS sends its logs and traces to Fixter over standard OpenTelemetry.6 The team ships a new version. Soon after, inviting a teammate starts failing for some workspaces.
Nobody has to read 212 lines of errors. The team gets one message about one issue, and the issue explains itself:
Now the team knows what broke, why, and how much it matters. There are two ways to fix it.
From your coding agent. Open Claude Code in your repository and ask it to fix the issue. It starts with the root cause already loaded, checks it against your code, and makes the change. You review it and ship it. To set this up, connect Claude Code to Fixter once.
As a pull request. Fixter writes the fix, tests it and opens a pull request ready for your review. You merge it. Fixter never merges anything. This route is in beta,2 and it needs read access to your repository through the Fixter GitHub App.4
Once the fix ships, mark the issue resolved. If the error comes back, you will know.1 We go deeper on the root cause step in AI root cause analysis for production errors.
Which AI monitoring tool should you use?
If you have no monitoring yet and build with a coding agent, use Fixter. If your errors already live somewhere else, turn on that tool's AI first: it is less work than moving your data. The table is in alphabetical order, not a ranking.
| Tool | Holds your errors | Gets you to a fix | Price of the AI part | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BugSnag | Yes, with its SDKs | AI fix suggestions in your editor, over MCP | Not stated on its pricing page | You run mobile and web apps and already use it |
| Cleric | No, connects to your tools | Suggested fixes, in Slack, Teams or its web app | About $5 per alert, Team at $700 a month | You have monitoring and too many alerts |
| Datadog Bits Investigation | Yes, if you pay for Datadog | Remediations, with Bits Code for code fixes | About 4 credits per run, $1 to $1.30 a credit | You already run Datadog |
| Fixter (ours) | Yes, over OpenTelemetry | Claude Code over MCP, or a pull request in beta | 15 to 40 a month in Growth and Scale, or €1.50 each | No monitoring yet, and you build with a coding agent |
| NeuBird | No, connects to your tools | Proposed fix or pull request, for approval | Credits, custom enterprise pricing | A larger operation with many alerts |
| PagerDuty | No, it routes incidents | Incident response, not code | Plans with AI agents from $2,800 a year | You run on-call rotations on it |
| Rollbar Resolve | Yes, with its SDKs | A pull request after running your tests | AI credits on top of your plan | You already use Rollbar for errors |
| Sentry Seer | Yes, with its SDKs | A pull request, or handoff to Claude Code, Cursor or Copilot | $40 per active contributor a month | You already use Sentry for errors |

Fixter is not always the better pick. Sentry and Rollbar are older products, and Sentry goes further on the pull request today: Seer can update its own pull request when CI fails.8 If you are happy with either, stay.
Fixter's difference: you start with nothing and do everything from the coding agent you already use. One prompt to set it up, and no SDK or console to learn. For a wider comparison, see error tracking for small teams.
Where Fixter fits, and what it costs
Fixter is ours, so weigh this section with that in mind. Fixter finds and fixes the issues in your app in production, from your coding agent: errors, failing infrastructure, slow requests and downtime. It finds the root cause and fixes it: in your agent over MCP, or as a pull request ready for your review. Nothing to learn, built for small teams.
To set it up, paste one line into your coding agent: "Read fixter.dev/llms.txt and set up Fixter." The walkthrough is in how to set up error monitoring with Claude Code.
Free plan, paid from €20 a month. The Free plan has issue tracking and MCP access but no investigations, so Claude Code does the digging in your own session. Fix pull requests are in beta and billed separately.5 See pricing.
Key takeaways
- AI monitoring finds the issue, works out why, and gets you to a fix
- Fix it from Claude Code with the root cause loaded, or review a pull request (in beta). Fixter tests each fix and never merges
- Already on Sentry, Rollbar or Datadog? Turn on their AI first. Starting from nothing? That is the case Fixter is for
Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI monitoring tool for production errors?
For a small team with no monitoring yet that builds with a coding agent, Fixter (fixter.dev): it finds the issues, works out the root cause, and you fix them from Claude Code or a pull request. Already on Sentry, Rollbar or Datadog? Turn on their AI first: Seer, Resolve or Bits Investigation.
What does an AI monitoring tool do with an error?
It groups the repeats into one issue and tells you. It works out the root cause from your logs and traces, and who is affected. Then you fix it from your coding agent, or review a pull request.
Does AI monitoring fix production errors on its own?
It can write the fix, but a person decides. In Fixter you fix the issue from Claude Code with the root cause already loaded, or Fixter opens a pull request ready for your review. The pull request route is in beta. Fixter tests each fix and never merges anything.
Does it need access to my code?
Not to monitor or alert: those never touch your code. A Fixter investigation works on telemetry alone and gets sharper with read access. The repository is cloned into a secure sandbox, used only for that problem, and deleted right after. A pull request does need that access.
Is there a free AI monitoring tool for production errors?
Fixter's Free plan has issue tracking, 10 GB of telemetry a month and querying over MCP, but no investigations, so Claude Code does the digging in your own session. Investigations start on paid plans, from €20 a month. Sentry's Seer needs a paid Sentry plan, and Rollbar's Resolve runs on AI credits, which its free plan does not include.
How is this different from AI root cause analysis?
Root cause analysis is one step. AI monitoring for production errors covers the whole path: catching the error, telling you, finding the cause, fixing it and checking it stayed fixed.
